This was a good movie. It felt a little like Stepford Wives in that you felt something was off but couldn't quite put your finger on it. I think 'Get Out' was a bit more subtle which made the plot even more incidious. I'd be interested in seeing the alternative ending. I think I'll look for it on DVD or streaming somewhere. I'd like to watch it again.
I believe it's on YouTube! Although, in context it will be a lot more impactful, and I'm almost certain it's included as a bonus feature in the Blu Ray or DVD version. Streaming you'll probably miss out on that. No matter how you see it, it's a worthy rewatch. One of those movies that never gets old for me.
Stepford Wives I still haven't seen! One you'd highly recommend?
If you watch Stepford wives, see the original. The remake is a bit over the top and not as creepy. Oddly I got a definite Stepford vibe when I moved in late 1960s San Francisco to a small town in Wisconsin. It took me a few months to figure out what was wrong with the place (no black people...hell! No brown people either!) I really enjoyed your review.
Thanks for the recommendation and for the kind words!! And there really is something eerie about life in those backwoods, homogenous towns you describe. The way Jordan Peele capitalized on that was just brilliant.
