I wish that I had HBO. You have left me intrigued by “The Last of Us.” I have not watched television at all in months, but I gradually stopped watching three years ago. I am a reader. I read a lot of the time since I am retired and widowed. E Books are wonderful. You just borrow them, read them on the Kindle Ap on your phone or Kindle device. When you finish them you electronically return them. No trees died for these books.
Yep! I got the Blu-rays for one of Craig Mazin's other shows, Chernobyl. His work is visual enough that they're significantly higher fidelity that way. But if you can find DVDs for The Last of Us, it's the story that matters most! It's definitely worth your time if you're not too sensitive of a viewer. I won't deny that it's graphic in moments, but it seems sometimes that that's practically a prerequisite with great TV these days.
Historically, my taste hasn’t run toward violence and gore, but it’s getting hard to find anything really good that doesn’t have it. Watching Dexter flattened my buttons on bloody scenes! Ha
I wish I could say it won't be sad. For me, I think the darkness in entertainment helps me to cope with the darkness I sometimes encounter in life, but there are times where I just want to watch something light and happy.
It might even be worth renting Max short term just to see the series. I prefer to wait until all seasons are complete and binge watch, but I couldn’t for this series. It’s too good!
Totally agree! I've been watching each episode as it releases. As much as I prefer to binge shows, it's always fun to participate in the weekly zeitgeist as each episode releases.
Golfing is fun

Especially for those who never saw the swings coming
Another thoughtful essay. So happy your work is appreciated!
Thanks so much for all the support, Lisa!!

If’s worth having a DVD player to watch it after it comes out in a box set.
I do have a DVD Player. I did not know that HBO puts things out in box sets. Thank you.

Dexter and Breaking Bad I think were what properly desensitized me as a kid hahaha. Game of Thrones sealed the deal.
GOT was intense! I couldn’t stick with Breaking Bad.
Is the ending going to be sad, do you think? Will they survive? At this point in my life, I want happy endings.

Yes, I know what you mean. The situation we are in is depressing enough. I want my entertainment to make me feel some joy.
